Lace up your skates or sneakers and take advantage of our free rec programs. These sessions are scheduled regularly throughout the week, so you can find the perfect time that fits your busy schedule.

FAQ

What gate do I use?
Skaters and walkers, please enter via Gate 1 (the Box Office entrance).
Do I need a helmet for skating?
Yes. All patrons of Mary Brown’s Centre are required to wear a Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approved head protector during ice-related activities.
What types of helmets are acceptable?
Any such Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approved helmet such as a hockey helmet, ski helmet, or snowboarding helmets.
Where can I view the latest schedule?
Are skating aids permitted?
Skating aids may be permitted during Learn to Skate and Parent & Tot Skate only. However, skating aids will NOT be permitted on the ice for these sessions if deemed a safety issue (ie. the aid is damaged or there is high attendance at the skating session).
What are the ages for each session?
Parent and Tot skate is for children 6 years and under.

* Learn to Skate is for all ages, beginners only
* Family skate is for all ages. Children 12 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult.
* Adult Skate is for 18+
What is Learn to Skate?
Learn to Skate is ice time allotted to beginners who are learning to skate for the first time or are working on improving their skating technique. Learn to Skate is NOT instructor guided, but we have a skate pratol on duty who can assist you if you have any questions or need assistance with skating aids
