Junior Cadougan Named NBL Canada Most Improved Player in 2018-19

The NBL Canada announced on Wednesday evening that Junior Cadougan of the St. John’s Edge has been named the NBL Canada Most Improved Player for the 2018-19 season.

Cadougan started 35 of his 39 games that he appeared in this season. Over those games he averaged 12.9 points, 4.4 assists, and 4 rebounds. He shot 46.5% from the field and had a 2.2 assist to turnover ratio good for 16th overall in the league.

In 2017-18, Junior averaged just 7.5 points per game and under 3 assists while playing for the London Lightning.

“As an organization we couldn’t be prouder of Junior. He was a mainstay on our roster from day 1”, said Interim Head Coach Steve Marcus.  “Both on and off the court he leads by example and is truly deserving of this honour.”

The league also announced their First and Second Team All-Canadian’s on Tuesday, with Junior Cadougan being named as a Second Team All-Canadian.
